A morning with a Woodlark
Short report
12th March, 2025 | Trip reports
A fisrt of a new series of “short stories”. These were originally published as posts on facebook so that’s why the formatting and overall structure of these posts might look a bit weird for a traditional blog post, but since I publish any kind of articles here very rarely, I decided i will try to adapt these posts for my website, too. A short format, few sentences, two three photos and that’s it. A short story :)
Inspired by Yosef Kiat[1], I too will share some bits and pieces from the field. First, this lovely early March morning with the magical song of a Woodlark (Lullula arborea), a bird especially dear to my heart.
A habitat of Woodlark. It likes to breed at the forest edges, steppes and pastures with mature trees or orchards, and, like here, at places where the mature forest has been chopped down recently.
The bird.
And a closeup. You can check more pictures in the gallery: CZEP25-025.
[1] Even though, his photos, are far better :)))
