Sex: M, age: 2CY+ (euring: 6), trapped: May, 2022 in South Moravia Region, Czech Republic
An interesting individual, very probably F1 hybrid of Luscinia megarhynchos and L. luscinia. Note the P10 is much shorter than the P coverts as in the L. luscinia, but the shape is not that narrow more like a proper feather like in L. megarhynchos. The wing formula is also more similar to L. megarhynchos, as is usual in F1 hybrids. The bird was a very slightly darker than other nightingales caught that day but that is hard to notice on pgotos probably. An interesting fact is that the bird is already moulting (very rare so soon) suggesting a bird that did not breed this season. I hope I will be able to confirm it by genetical analysis soon.
Note: the bird was moulting its PP, but the P10 was not growing and was this short on both wings.
